About me

Daniel Rubinstein

I’m an Existential-Analytic Psychotherapeutic Counsellor with a long-standing connection to creative life. Before training as a therapist, I spent around 20 years working in art schools, supporting creativity across the whole arc—from undergraduate study through to doctoral work. As part of my counselling training, I worked as a student counsellor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

My training in psychotherapeutic counselling draws on different approaches to therapy, including phenomenology, existentialism, psychoanalysis, and person-centred therapy. This allows me to utilise the most valuable and relevant aspects of each approach in my practice.

If I were to sum up my way of working, I would say it begins by acknowledging the uniqueness of each individual’s experience, especially in relationships with others. From there, I incorporate a wide range of ideas – from art and popular culture to established theories – to help make sense of that experience and gain greater clarity.

My practice is LGBTQI+ affirming  and kink/CNM-aware. I have specialist training in psychosexual therapy and can support individuals across a wide range of relationships and identities.

Together, we’ll embark on a personalised counselling journey designed to address your specific needs and goals. By exploring your unique life story, relationships, and individuality, we can identify what might be holding you back and work towards empowering you to live a more fulfilling, authentic life.
